I have the word ‘wizard’ written on my things-to-do list.  I have no idea what it means, but I think it’s awesome.

As much as I’m digging all of The Go! Team’s second album, Flashlight Fire featuring Chuck D. is fucking mental.  Ka-BOOM!

Carradine, Busey and Bolo Yeung in a martial arts movie?  Has someone been reading my diary?

And Yeung is the scariest looking 69 year old I’ve ever seen.

Try pitching this as a kids’ cartoon.  (Shanna the She-Devil and her Amazing Friends?)
— From a review of Shanna the She-Devil #1 by X-Axis, which I found amusing considering Shanna did appear in an episode of Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends.

The Cimmerian pays tribute to David Gemmell on the first anniversary of his passing.  I only recently began reading Gemmell’s work, but I’m whipping through it all so fast that I already regret that he’s no longer among us.

Dark Horse Comics is cancelling Conan with issue #50 and starting a new series, Conan the Cimmerian.  Their plan is to break his exploits into 50 issue chunks, each detailing a specific time in his career.  The biggest change is that Cary Nord is out and Tomas Giorello is in.  There have been complaints that Nord was skimping on the detail, but one of the things I liked about his take was that it had a ferocity and energy that complicated detail would obscure, something Giorello’s art doesn’t seem to convey.  Oh, well.  It was good while it lasted.
